It’s that time of year again! Halloween is looming and the spiders are hanging out at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles.
The pavilion is outside the main entrance to the museum and is filled with a beautiful variety of Orb Weavers. Orb Weavers mostly stay in their webs so there’s no real danger of them dropping down on you. Even if they did, they are harmless, just LARGE!
Garden Spider: Their silk webs can span 1 to 3 meters across!
The B Side:
Another Garden Spider, different legs:
Breakfast, I’m guessing:
Golden Silk Spider: their webbing is one of the strongest biological fibers known to humans!
the B side:
In the entry they have more spiders in terrariums like this Wolf Spider:
and of course Tarantulas:
The exhibit ends November 26th so get your hairy legs over there before then!
